A summer of events at The Pantiles

This summer, The Pantiles once again came alive with a fantastic line-up of events, drawing in crowds from Royal Tunbridge Wells and beyond. Thursday's final Live at The Pantiles marked the end of the concert series, and with the last Antiques & Vintage Fair happening this weekend, the season of festivities is officially winding down.

From soulful live music and vibrant food festivals to bustling markets, The Pantiles offered something for everyone, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. In this week’s blog, we’ll look back at some of the standout moments that made summer 2024 so special.

Live at The Pantiles

A major highlight of the season was the Thursday night Live at The Pantiles sessions, filling Tunbridge Wells with soulful sounds and electrifying performances. This weekly musical celebration showcased a range of talent—local, national, and international—drawing an equally diverse and enthusiastic audience.

Among the standout performers were The Swinging Little Big Band, Dino & Darby, Dave Ital, The Sue Rivers Quintet, and The Blues Brothers Little Brother. Their performances created a festive atmosphere, transforming Thursday nights into unmissable musical experiences.

Food Festivals

Food lovers were spoiled for choice in May and August as The Pantiles and Sankey’s collaborated to host two highly anticipated events: Sankey’s Feast & Fizz Festival and the Summer Feastival. These weekends drew thousands of visitors, offering an array of seasonal delicacies and exciting culinary experiences.

From indulgent to healthy, the festivals catered to every palate. With offerings ranging from burgers and loaded fries to Greek BBQ and seafood from Sankey’s, the culinary trail had something for everyone. Visitors also enjoyed cooking demonstrations from renowned chefs using a state-of-the-art kitchen provided by local business Great British Kitchens & Interiors.

Soul Train

The ever-popular Soul Train returned to The Pantiles bandstand three times this summer, delivering a soundtrack of timeless dance-floor classics spanning pop, rock ‘n’ roll, soul, funk and disco. The June, July and August performances were more than just concerts – they were energetic, interactive experiences that left everyone smiling.

Cuba Libre

In May, the two-day Cuba Libre event brought a Latin flair to The Pantiles with an irresistible mix of music, exotic cocktails and mouth-watering cuisine. This celebration infused the spirit of the Gin & Jazz Festival with Latin American vibes – offering a vibrant experience unlike any other.

Gin & Jazz Festival

September saw the return of the much-loved Gin & Jazz Festival. Visitors were treated to a fizz-filled weekend of fine gin, sparkling wine, and live jazz. The event featured street food, a gin masterclass, and live performances on the bandstand, drawing thousands of jazz enthusiasts and gin lovers alike.

Antiques & Vintage Fair

Throughout the summer, The Pantiles continued to host its beloved weekend markets, with dedicated Antiques & Vintage Fairs in June and August. Over 50 outdoor stalls showcased a stunning selection of antiques and collectibles, providing a treasure trove of unique finds for attendees.
