This weekend The Pantiles becomes a haven for food and drink lovers, as it hosts another Harvest Food Festival.

The festival of delights will take place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October from 10am to 4pm and is a testament to the incredible quality and wide variety of food available locally and further afield.

Delicious Delicacies

From the healthy to the indulgent, there are set to be over 40 different food stalls at The Harvest Food Festival, with a range of delicious delicacies on offer. The culinary festival is designed to celebrate food, irrespective of whether you’re a stick-to-what-you-know type or an adventurist. It is a time for the whole family to roll up their sleeves and enjoy a whole host of live cooking demonstrations, fun activities and music on the bandstand.

Visitors will be able to taste the many gastronomic delights on offer cooked and supplied by local restaurateurs and chefs and presented as street food. You will be able to munch your way around the world in the Tunbridge Wells sunshine! The tantalising trail will take you from Indian curries to Italian pizza and pasta, Mediterranean morsels to Spanish paella and much more.

Julian Leefe-Griffiths – event organiser from The Tunbridge Wells Hotel – says: “The Festival will have all the usual excellent ingredients. There will be tasty food stalls, great drink offers as well as your favourite well-known local chefs cooking up some delightful autumn treats from the bandstand.

We’re really pleased to welcome back local superstar Will Devlin from The Small Holding Restaurant in Kilndown, Scott Goss from The Beacon and Alex from Kumquat – one of the newest additions to The Pantiles. Dan Hatton will be back, as well as regular favourite Matthew Sankey from his eponymous fish restaurant.”

Julian adds: “Autumn is a special time of the year and although it means the end of summer, it does mean the start of one of the most exciting seasons in the calendar. Pheasant, partridge and wild mushrooms are all at their best, as well as the arrival of the new winter root vegetables crops. It’s an exciting time for any cook or food lover.”

Sankey’s

Once again, The Pantiles Harvest Food Festival is sponsored and hosted by Sankey’s this year. With their restaurant at The Old Fishmarket, Kitchen and Bar at Mount Ephraim and specialised fishmongers, their knowledge of the finest cuisine makes them the perfect hosts.

This year a children’s table will be included in the Sankey’s line-up, allowing little ones to make their own fishcakes.

Situated in the Old Fishmarket building in the heart of The Pantiles, Sankey’s exclusive Champagne & Seafood bar is the jewel in the town’s crown. It serves a wide range of Champagne and sparkling wines from around the world and is a luxurious place to relax and enjoy the very best of British fish and shellfish.

The menu comprises oysters, starters and mains as well as the option to build your own seafood platters. To view the lip-licking options, visit sankeys.co.uk
